Description

The Museum of the Bank of Albania has opened its doors to the interested public. Located inside the building symbol of the main square of the capital, the headquarters of the central bank, the Museum of the Bank of Albania was inaugurated on October 30, 2015.


The museum is spread over two floors, each of which is conceived as a space independent of the other. On the first floor, in an exhibition trajectory that culminates in the Treasury Room or as it is otherwise known Rondo, is presented the rich numismatic collection of the Bank of Albania from antiquity to the present day.


The second floor of the Museum presents the history of the central bank institution in Albania, its role in maintaining price stability and guaranteeing the financial stability of the country, as well as its constitutional functions.


The Museum of the Bank of Albania represents a new tourist destination in the heart of Tirana as well as a permanent information center where the general public can learn more about all aspects of money and the economy, as well as better understand the function of Central Bank.


The entrance to the building is from the side of the street “Ibrahim Rugova”. To enter the Museum of the Bank of Albania, you must book your visit and be provided with an identification document.


The Museum of the Bank of Albania is open every: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 09:00 to 15:00, admission to the museum is free.
